Modern and Contemporary Sculpture Collection Surveys

Eligibility

Museum and gallery professionals—including directors, curators, and conservators—who are responsible for collections of modern and contemporary sculpture. Please note: recipients must wait two years before applying for another Gabo Trust grant.

How to Apply

Start by submitting a brief outline of your proposed application via our Contact Us page. If your project aligns with our funding priorities, we’ll send you a full application form.

Initial information to include:

  • A description of your sculpture collection, including its size and scope
  • Why the conservation survey is needed
  • Details of any curatorial or technical support your institution can offer
  • An outline budget

Grant Conditions

If awarded a grant, you’ll need to submit a digital report to gabotrust@btinternet.com within two months of completing the conservation survey.

Report Guidelines

Your report should be around 1000 words and include:

  • How the survey has benefited your institution
  • How you plan to implement the findings to improve care of the collection
  • Highlights of any particularly significant items, with accompanying high-resolution images

The full survey conducted by the appointed conservator remains the property of your institution and does not need to be shared with the Gabo Trust.

Failure to meet these conditions may affect future funding eligibility.

If your report is of wider interest, the Gabo Trust may publish it on our website.
